Admin Office Converted to Famous Restaurant

When a famous restaurant came to downtown West Palm Beach’s busiest street, REMCO stepped in to provide the GC necessary to convert the outdated municipal administrative office that stood in its way.

Located on the corner of “main and main” (Dixie Highway and Clematis Street), the soon-to-be Bahama Mama’s restaurant space was part of an outdated 10,000 SF floor plate previously used as municipal administrative office (occupied by the downtown’s Community Redevelopment Authority).

REMCO broke into a stunning, marble 1,500 SF lobby to revamp restrooms, created two 4,000 SF user spaces on either side, and GC’d one side to a state-of-the-art, first downtown location for Prometric Test Center.

For the Clematis-side of the space to be occupied by Bahama Mama, REMCO:

  • ran hood through existing 3-story structure

  • upgraded electric

  • upgraded plumbing

  • upgraded firestopping,

  • completed a mechanical retrofit for HVAC needs, refrigeration and freezer rooms,

  • placed impact windows and doors

REMCO managed all facets of the build out, construction draws, building owner and tenant communications, worked with city on special approvals, and passed all inspections.
